Central govt pensioners can submit life certificate till Dec 31, 2021

New Delhi: The last date for central government pensioners to submit their annual life certificate has been extended to December 31, 2021.

The usual deadline for submission the life certificate is November 30. This extension will give those pensioners who are yet to submit their annual life certificate 30 more days to do the needful.

It is essential for central government pensioners to submit their life certificate on time to ensure that they continue to receive pension.

The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare announced the extension of life certificate submission date via an office memorandum dated December 1, 2021.

As per the office memorandum, “In view of the on-going Covid-19 pandemic in various states and keeping in view of the vulnerability of elderly population to coronavirus, it has now been decided to extend the existing timeline for submission of life certificate for all age group of pensioners from 30/11/2021 onwards. Now, all central government pensioners may submit life certificate till 31 December 2021. During this extended period, the pension will be continued to be paid by the Pension Disbursing Authorities (PDA) uninterrupted.”

The extension can prevent rush at bank branches and can make sure that covid-19 appropriate behaviour is maintained while obtaining life certificates. PDAs shall also ensure proper arrangements and social distancing measures at the branches and prevent overcrowding, said the memorandum.
