Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has today ordered the presence of 50 percent staff in all government and non-government institutions and offices in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Kanpur and Varanasi till April 30 to help contain a record surge in COVID-19 infections cases.
However, it is not yet decided how it will be implemented. For implementation of this order, this rule will apply under rotation or any other arrangement, it is yet to be decided.
The Yogi government has taken this decision due to increasing cases of COVID-19 in several districts of the state including the capital Lucknow and Varanasi.
According to the information given by a state government official on Friday, 36 more fatalities due to coronavirus infection and 9,587 new cases in the province in the last 24 hours.
This is the largest number of infects found in a day in the state since the epidemic began. With 9,587 new cases of coronavirus, the number of people infected with this deadly virus has increased to 6,63,991 in the state and COVID-19 death toll to 9,039 in the state till date.
Meanwhile, night curfew will come into force in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad tonight from 10pm to 6am. Meerut came under similar curbs on Thursday.
So far, the curfew has been announced in eight big cities, including, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida),Ghaziabad, Bareilly and Saharanpur.
