New Delhi: An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Delhi has been booked for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage, police said Thursday.
The officer identified as Ramesh Dahiya was posted as the station house officer at Sadar Bazar Police Station in New Delhi. He was recently promoted to the rank of the ACP, they added.
Last month, the woman lodged a rape complaint at Sadar Bazar Police station against Dahiya, claiming that the cop had developed physical intimacy with her after the death of her husband, who was a criminal. Dahiya also promised to marry her when he was the Station House Officer at Sadar Bazar. They allegedly also have a son.
The victim also alleged that Dahiya molested her minor daughter, and kidnapped the son born of Dahiya.
