ACP booked for raping woman on pretext of marriage

New Delhi: An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Delhi has been booked for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage, police said Thursday.

Delhi police ACP Ramesh Dahiya was booked for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage.

The officer identified as Ramesh Dahiya was posted as the station house officer at Sadar Bazar Police Station in New Delhi. He was recently promoted to the rank of the ACP, they added.

Last month, the woman lodged a rape complaint at Sadar Bazar Police station against Dahiya, claiming that the cop had developed physical intimacy with her after the death of her husband, who was a criminal.
