New Delhi: Branches of public banks will remain either closed or non-operational on May 30, 31 as staffers and officers will go ahead with their 48-hours strike pressing for various demands, including wage revision in the wake of the proposal for a 2 percent hike in salary.
The general people will suffer the last two days of this month. The United Forum of Bank Union’s strike will affect the services like cash deposits and withdrawal from branches and cheque clearances etc.
In that case, arrangements are being made by the Union government to pay the salaries of central government employees in advance. This month’s salary will be on May 29. However, salary is being paid last working day of the month.
Under the situation of Bank strike, the possibility of salary could be delayed for the central government employees, the problem is now going to end. Because the salries will be paid on the day before the strike begins, the Controller General of Accounts office said in writing. It has also been instructed all departments and ministries to send all the documents to the bank on May 25, so that central government employees can get salaries on May 29.
