57 complaints of harassment from SC/ST employees in railways in 3 years: Minister
New Delhi: The railways has received 57 complaints from SC/ST employees regarding caste-related harassment in the past three years, the government informed Parliament today.
In written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain said that all such cases had been taken up seriously by the administration.
“During the last three years (2015-2017), 57 complaints of SC/ST employees regarding harassment on the basis of casteism have been received in the railways, out of which 50 cases have been finalised. Balance seven cases are under various stages of investigation,” he said.
He also said that if after due investigation, the charge is proved, immediate necessary action is taken against the erring officials.
