New Delhi: Finance Ministry today increased the daily and the weekly limit of withdrwal and exchange of currency in its review meeting.
The limit of daily withdrawl from ATMs has been increased to Rs 2500 from Rs 2000. The withdrawl policy from cheque of Rs 10,000 has been removed.
People can now withdraw Rs 24,000 a week against Rs 20,000 earlier.
Now the people can also get Rs 4500 exchanged from bank, increasing the amount by Rs 4000.
Banks have been directed to increase the issuance and use of mobile wallets and debit/credit cards as also to provide them to those customers and establishments not having access to these non-cash means of payment.
