Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) supremo Jayalalithaa’s is responding well to treatment, but is still in respiratory support to treat infection, said a press release issued by Apollo Hospital on Monday.
The release said the CM was “responding adequately to the comprehensive treatment and had been advised further stay in the hospital.”
Jayalalithaa, 68, was admitted to the hospital on September 22 for fever and dehydration.
Meanwhile, a 47-year-old AIADMK worker, who was stated to have been upset over rumours about the CM’s health, died of heart attack in Coimbatore.
It was earlier rumoured that Jayalalithaa was even put on the ventilator and plans were on to move her abroad for medical treatment. But AIADMK leaders denied the reports. The party later tweeted that Chennai Police had filed an FIR against a woman for spreading rumours about CM’s health.
