New Delhi: The Centre has transferred eight Delhi government officers outside the national capital and also cancelled its March order posting Home Secretary S N Sahai to Goa, paving the way for him to work with the Union Government.

S N Sahai has been appointed as Chief Secretary of Goa by the Centre.

Centre has now cancelled S N Sahai’s transfer order as Goa Chief Secretary and he will work at the Union Commerce Ministry.

Sahai, a 1986-batch IAS officer, was first transfered to Goa as Chief Secretary in March this year, but later the order was revised and he was posted to the Commerce Ministry.

Centre has now cancelled its March order and said that Sahai, who was also Delhi Finance Secretary until March, will work at the Union Commerce Ministry.

“The Joint Cadre Authority (JCA) of AGMU Cadre approved the cancellation of the transfer/posting order dated March 7, 2016 from GNCTD to Goa in respect of S N Sahai,” said one of the MHA orders issued on October 1.

With Sahai being transfered to central government, the Arvind Kejriwal government doesn’t have any officer of principal secretary rank.

Through another order, the MHA has transfered as many as eight officers including District Magistrate (South-West) Madhu Rani Teotia, DJB senior officer Neeraj Semwal.

Transfer and posting of officers is major bone of contention between the AAP government and the Centre. The AAP has in the past accused the BJP government of “deliberately” issuing such orders to paralyse its functioning.
