Talking about his resignation, Shivpal Yadav said, “I will take a decision only after talking to Mulyam Singh Yadav.”

Addressing a press conference in Saifai, Shivpal today said that the decision on whether he will resign as state minister will be taken only after he meets Netajee (Mulayam Singh Yadav).

“The people of UP is with Netajee and Samajwadi Party, I would accept any decision taken by Netajee,”he said.

Mulayam on Tuesday replaced Akhilesh Yadav with his uncle Shivpal as its new chief in Uttar Pradesh.

In response to it, Revenue, irrigation and PWD departments was taken away from Shivpal on Tuesday by the Chief Minister Akhilesh.

The move comes at a time when the state is gearing up for assembly elections which are scheduled to place next year.

The development came hours after Akhilesh shunted out state Chief Secretary Deepak Singhal, considered close to Shivpal Singh, and replaced him with 1983 batch IAS officer Rahul Bhatnagar.

Disagreements between Akhilesh and his uncle have been reported on several occasions, including on the choice of official to be appointed as the state’s chief secretary after Alok Ranjan’s term ended, and the postponement of Qaumi Ekta Dal’s merger with Samajwadi Party.

However, it should be noted that Akhilesh had been the party’s state chief for the last four years.
