Security tightened after Al Qaeda threatens to target IPS, IAS officers

New Delhi: Special Commissioner of Delhi Police (Special Cell), Arvind Deep, on Friday said that security has been tightened across the city in the wake of an alert given by the Special Cell that Al Qaeda plans to target senior IAS and IPS officers.

“We are alert. We have been dealing with terrorism since long and have always been a target. We are ready to face any challenge. We’ll protect ourselves as well as the citizens,” Deep said.

Meanwhile, in the backdrop of repeated intrusions into Jammu & Kashmir from across the border, the Intelligence Bureau has issued an alert for a possible terror attack in Kathua and Sambha in the state.

There are reports that 4 terrorists might be hiding in the area. Search operations for the terrorists are underway.
