Deputy Commandant Dhurwa of the 133 battalion in Ranchi and a few others are accused of trying to influence the recruitment process and making an attempt to take bribe from the candidates.

“It was alleged in the complaint that the officer had approached Medical Officers of the Recruitment Board to declare medically unfit candidates as fit in lieu of illegal gratification,” said a CBI statement.

“It was further alleged that the officer has also requested the Medical Officers of the Medical Board to intimate Bank particulars by opening a new bank account, so that the alleged bribe can be deposited in the new bank accounts,” it added.

The CBI has conducted searches at the accused Deputy Commandant’s residential premises and also at the premises of her husband in Kolkata, which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
