CBI lodges case against former HUDA officials, conducts searches at 16 locations

Chandigarh: CBI today registered cases against former Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) officials, 13 beneficiaries and others over alleged irregularities in the allotment of HUDA industrial plots at Panchkula.

The CBI has registered cases against the former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the then chairman of HUDA, D P S Nagal, IAS (the then chief administrator HUDA) S P Kansal (the then chief financer, HUDA) and the then deputy superintendent, HUDA.

The investigating agency also conducted searches at 16 locations, including Chandigarh, Panchkula, Faridabad, Delhi, Gurgaon, Karnal ,Kurukshetra and Rohtak in connection with the ongoing probe in the case.

Haryana Chief Minster Manohar Lal Khattar had ordered that an FIR be registered by the Vigilance Bureau (VB) and the matter then be referred to the CBI for an independent probe.

Fourteen applications of the 582 received for industrial plots at Panchkula, located barely a few kms from Chandigarh, and were picked up in 2012-13.
