Principal Finance Secretary P V Ramesh was shunted out in late Friday night reshuffle of bureaucrats in Andhra Pradesh.

Five officers on wait for sometime now have been given postings while four senior officers have been given charge of additional departments.

Some Central service officers were also shuffled.

Ramesh was tipped to be replaced for sometime now. He has now been made Principal Secretary, Environment, Forests and Science and Technology Department, an official release said.

Besides, the order issued by Chief Secretary Satya Prakash Tucker said Ramesh would also be the Development Commissioner, an arrangement hitherto unknown in state bureaucracy.

He has also been designated as ex-officio principal secretary to the Chief Minister to handle (bifurcation-related) issues pending with the Centre.

One of the senior-most bureaucrats Ajeya Kallam (1983 batch) has been brought back to the Finance Department as Special Chief Secretary.

He will continue to hold the post of Special CS (Commercial Taxes, Excise and Stamps and Registration).

Adityanath Das, an IAS officer of 1987 batch, has finally been shifted out of the Water Resources Department after having served in the post for close to nine years, a record.

He has been appointed Principal Secretary in the Human Resources Development Department.

Another Special Chief Secretary rank officer Ashwini Kumar Parida (1980 batch), who was a contender for the Chief Secretary’s post, has been moved out of Environment, Forests and S&T Department and posted to a rather obscure Public Enterprises Department.
