The IPS officer, Deputy Inspector General (civil rights), Satya Narayan Khinchi was given two years in prison applying mercilessly torture three men at a police station 16 years ago when he was posted as Additional Superintendent of Police at Rajsamand.

The trio were brought to police station in Rajsamand on complaints of hurting religious sentiments at a community dance programme in October 2000 and where the officer beat them up severely, despite the SHO objecting to the torture.

The medical examination also confirmed that they had been tortured.

Accordingly, they filed a complaint through court against the IPS officer following which an FIR was registered against him under section 355 of IPC.

However, the court suspended the sentence for a month so that the IPS officer can appeal in the District Judge Court.
