“The appointment of these 96 officers has been recommended by the J&K Public Service Commission after nine months as the Commission was unable to function in the absence of Chairman and Members,” an official spokesman said here.

The state government recently filled up all vacancies in the J&K Public Commission, including that of the Chairman, to speed up the process of recruitment in the gazetted cadre.

In terms of the approval to the appointment of these 96 officers, 59 have been allotted junior KAS, 19 police service and 18 accounts service respectively.

After issuance of the appointment orders, the officers who have been allotted junior KAS will undergo training in Srinagar and Jammu.
