IAS officer B Venugopal Reddy takes charge as secretary to Maha Governor

Mumbai: Senior IAS officer B Venugopal Reddy on Saturday took charge as the new secretary to the Governor of Maharashtra Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao.

Reddy has replaced Vikas Chandra Rastogi who has proceeded abroad for training.

Reddy, an IAS officer of the 1994 batch, was additional metropolitan commissioner of Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) before his new assignment. Earlier, he had served in different capacities in the state.

He has served as divisional commissioner of Nagpur division for three years, a Raj Bhavan spokesperson said.

He had also officiated as Vice Chancellor of the Rashtra Sant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur for some time.
