Senior IPS officer A K Sharma cooling his heels in CBI
New Delhi: Gujarat cadre senior IPS officer A K Sharma has been cooling his heels in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) without any work since his joining,Sharma, who was appointed as Joint Director in the agency in April this year, is yet to get a posting.
Sharma is currently without work even though many joint director rank officers are holding additional charges.
Sharma, who was posted as Special Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad crime branch after his promotion as Additional DGP, before joining CBI, is considered close to the BJP
The 1987-batch officer was questioned in September 2013 by the CBI in the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case for his participation in a meeting in November 2011 in which bureaucrats and lawyers discussed ways to derail investigations into the killing of 19-year-old college student Ishrat Jahan in 2004.
There is constant speculation about Sharma not being allocated any work.
