PMO used to receive between 5000 and 10,000 grievance complaint letters from people registering their complaints and on several issues per month during Manmohan Singh’s tenure, the figure has been 1.5-2.5 lakh every month since July, barely two months after Narendra Modi took over as the PM, said postal officials of PMO dak unit, at Nirman Bhawan Post Office, which deals with the PMO letters.

The bureaucrats in the PMO have realised that it’s not possible for them to deal with all the letters and decided to send the communication to the ministry concerned located in Shashtri Bhawan, Rail Bhawan etc depending on the nature of complaints.

However, the ones that require to be read by the PM are brought to his notice.

So bureaucrats across ministries are flooded with grievance complaint letters from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) regarding queries and grievances received by it.

The bureaucrats in the ministries are busy dealing with these letters as there is pressure from the PMO to send their replies quickly.

Receiving a pile of grievance complaint letters in PMO shows that people seem to be writing to Modi on everything under the sun as well as it could be an indicator of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity among the masses.
