New Delhi: The Government has again extended the term of the chairman of the Forward Markets Commission (FMC), Ramesh Abhishek up to three months.This is the third time that Abhishek has got an extension after taking over as the chief of the commodity markets regulator in September, 2012. The latest extension is till April 7.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved the extension for Abhishek, a 1982-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, for a period of three months beyond January 8, 2015, or until the appointment of the new incumbent, said an order issued today by the Department of Personnel and Training.
Abhishek was given a three-month extension in July and then once more in October of last year. His second extended stint ended on January 7 of this year.
