Dismissed IAS officer Tinoo Joshi’s judicial custody extended till Jan 30

Bhopal: A local court here today extended till January 30 the judicial remand of sacked IAS officer Tinoo Joshi, wife of Dismissed IAS officer Arvind Joshi both of whom are accused of amassing wealth disproportionate to known sources of their income.

Tinoo had surrendered before the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge D P Mishra on January 13.

While at the time of surrender, she had come on a wheel chair, today she walked to the court without any assistance.

Tinoo was produced in Additional District and Sessions Judge V K Pandey’s court as Mishra was on leave today. The court extended her judicial remand till January 30.

Her husband Arvind Joshi (both IAS officers of 1979 batch) is still on the run.

The trouble for the Joshis started when Income Tax sleuths had raided their place here on February 4, 2010 and recovered Rs 3.04 crore in cash and foreign currency to the tune of Rs 7 lakh, besides documents related to properties, investments and 49 liquor bottles, along with the imported ones.

After this, Lokayukta police had raided their place on December 10, 2010 and recovered Rs 7 lakh in cash and other documents relating to their money.

Lokayukta police has pegged the disproportionate assets of the Joshis at Rs 41.87 crore.
