Delhi Chief Secretary Spolia suffers cardiac arrest, admitted in hospital

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Secretary Deepak Mohan Spolia admitted in the intensive care unit of Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital after he suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday.

“Deepak Mohan was admitted on Sunday morning here after he had an heart attack. During the medical investigation, blockage in one of his arteries was detected, after which he underwent angioplasty in the hospital. He is doing fine. He will undergo further a check up on Wednesday and accordingly he will be discharged,” S P Jayant, Medical Superintendent at Govind Ballah Pant hospital, said.

Spolia, an IAS officer of 1979 batch, had took over as Delhi Chief Secretary on August 28, 2014.
