Later, at a rally in Dwarka, Bedi made attempts to reach out to the female electorate saying that women’s security in the capital was her “full responsibility”.

“We’ll tighten women security, sleep in peace today, because I am on night watch. Go enjoy yourself, women security is fully my responsibility now,” she said.

Bedi also sought to strike a chord with the crowd by calling herself as their “friend, “sister and mother”.

“I am your mother and sister. You must have patience, you will have a friend in me. This is your own government, you all will sit on that chair,” Bedi said.
