Deceased IAS officer D K Ravi’s wife joins Congress to contest by-poll

Bengaluru: H Kusuma, widow of late IAS officer D K Ravi joined the Congress party in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Deceased IAS officer D K Ravi’s wife H Kusuma joined Congress in Bengaluru, Karnataka on Sunday.

Kusuma joined the party in the presence of the president, Karnataka Congress, DK Shivakumar at an event held in the party office in Bengaluru.

IAS officer DK Ravi had allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Koramangala in March 2015.

His death had sparked a controversy in Karnataka. Ravi was known as an honest and upright officer. So several leaders of the Congress, which was then ruling the state, had been accused of harassing the officer.

His death had led to massive protests in Kolar and other parts of the state. After intense public pressure, the then chief minister handed over the case to the CBI, which in 2016 filed a closure report stating that Ravi’s death was a case of suicide.
