Haryana IAS officer Rajesh Khullar appointed World Bank Executive Director

New Delhi: The central government has approved Haryana IAS officer Rajesh Khullar’s appointment as the Executive Director at the World Bank, in Washington DC, the Personnel Ministry order issued on Monday said.

Senior IAS officer Rajesh Khullar has been appointed as Executive Director, World Bank, Washington.

Khullar will represent a constituency of countries at the World Bank comprising India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.

The World Bank Group comprises 25 executive directors who represent a country, or constituency of countries, and they are either appointed or elected to the position.

Khullar, a 1988-batch IAS officer, is currently serving in his cadre state Haryana. He is the principal secretary to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Khullar did postgraduation in physics from Panjab University in 1984.
