Former IAS officer Praveer appointed chairman of UP Subordinate Services Selection Commission

Lucknow: Former IAS officer Praveer Kumar was Wednesday appointed as new chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission.

The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath approved the recommendation of the committee headed by Chief Secretary R K Tiwari about Kumar’s appointment.

The order for his appointment will be issued soon. The post chairman of UP Subordinate Services Selection Commission of was lying vacant for one year after resignation of retired IAS officer C B Paliwal from the post on 11 December 2018 for personal reasons.

Since then, the member of the commission retired IAS officer Arun Sinha Karyakhyak has been working as chairman.

Pravir, a 1982 batch IAS officer, who retired as the Chairman of the Revenue Council in July 2019.

He held several important positions in the Central and State Governments, including the Commissioner of Agricultural Production before retirement.
