R P Mandal appointed Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary

Raipur Senior IAS officer Rajendra Prasad Mandal has today been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh.

He has been appointed in place of IAS officer Sunil Kujur.

Sunil Kujur, a 1986 batch IAS, retires today after serving 10 months as the Chief Secretary.

Mandal, a 1987 batch Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer’s tenure will be for 11 months as new Chief Secretary for the state of Chhattisgarh.

Mandal was collector in Bilaspur, Raipur and he served as Secretary for various department.

After serving as secretary he has been made collector of state capital Raipur.

the post of Chief Secretary Chittaranjan Kumar Khetan,a 1987 batch Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer was also in the list, But Mandal was the choice of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

Mandal is been considered as hard working and clean IAS officer,and more over he is been local of Chhattisgarh that why he got the preference.

Mandal did his schooling from Bilaspur district and graduated as a technocrat from the Raipur-based government engineer college. He was an additional chief secretary—panchayat, public works department, forest & environment among other departments.

Along with the appointment of the chief secretary, the state government also affected a major bureaucratic reshuffle on posting of eight other senior IAS officers.
