Lucknow shooting: Apple executive’s widow demands CBI inquiry, Rs 1 crore compensation, job

Lucknow: The wife of the Apple executive, who was shot dead by the Uttar Police on Friday night, has written to state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, demanding a CBI inquiry into the incident.

Kalpana Tiwari, wife of Vivek Tiwari wrote a letter to CM Yogi Adityanath, demanding a probe into her husband’s death, a job in police.

Kalpana Tiwari, the wife of Vivek Tiwari has also demanded a Rs 1 crore compensation and a job with the state police department, ANI reported.

Tiwari, was shot dead by a policeman near the Mukadampur Police Station in Lucknow’s Gomtinagar on Friday night. It has been alleged that Tiwari was shot because he refused to stop his car after being asked by the police.

Tiwari was returning home after work with a woman colleague. He was asked to stop by two cops on a bike. He refused to comply and instead tried to ram his car into the policemen’s bike.

One of the two policemen, identified as Prashant Chaudhary, stationed at the Gomtinagar Police Station, shot at Tiwari as he tried to escape. Tiwari’s car swerved and jammed into a divider.

Kalpana wrote a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, demanding a probe into her husband’s death, a job in police based on her educational qualifications and compensation of at least Rs 1 crore.

Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that his government is open to refer to the CBI the matter of death of her husband, who was allegedly shot dead by a cop in Lucknow, but maintained that the incident was ‘not an encounter.’
