The SVO registered a case of corruption against the then Tehsildar, Kalakote Tarsem Lal, the then Patwari, Aijaz Ahmed Malik, the then Inspector (now a deputy superintendent of police) Balkrishan Sharma and his wife Uma Devi, an agency spokesman said.

He said a case was registered following a complaint and inquiry against the police officer.

Sharma allegedly misused his official position in connivance and criminal conspiracy with the revenue officers and managed a legal entry of his wife’s name for a state land in the district’s Keri Triya village, the spokesman said.

During verification, it was found that the revenue officers had attested the mutation papers with respect to the state land in the village in favour of occupants in violation of the prescribed rules and norms, he said.

The SVO team after registring the case, conducted raids with the help of the local police and magistrate at the residence of the accused in Rajouri, Darhal and Jammu areas, the spokesman said.
