Anup Chandra Pandey to be next UP chief secretary

Lucknow: Senior IAS officer Anup Chandra Pandey will be the next chief secretary of Uttar Pradesh, a senior official said today.

IAS officer Anup Chandra Pandey will replace fellow IAS officer Rajiv Kumar as UP chief secretary, Kumar retires on June 30.

Pandey had played a key role in the investors summit organised in February this year by the state government.

A 1984 batch IAS officer, Pandey, who presently is the UP Industrial and Infrastructure Development Commissioner.

Pandey presently also holds the charges of additional chief secretary (institutional finance) and chairman of the Greater Noida authority.

Pandey will take charge from Rajive Kumar who retires on June 30, an official spokesperson said here.

Rajive Kumar took over as the UP chief secretary on June 29, 2017.

Prior appointment as the state’s Chief Secretary in June 2017, Kumar was the Secretary in Shipping ministry, Government of India.

He had earlier served the Central Government in various capacities in Ministries of petroleum and natural gas, finance and shipping, as also in the central Cabinet secretariat.

In Uttar Pradesh, Kumar served as the divisional commissioner of Saharanpur and Meerut and also in the industrial development department.
