Ganapathy takes over as new DGP of U’khand

Dehradun: M A Ganapathy today took charge as the new DGP of Uttarakhand after the retirement of B S Sidhu.

A 1986 batch IPS officer, Ganapathy assumed charge as the new state police chief at a simple ceremony at the police headquarters here this evening.

Soon after assuming office, Ganapathy said strengthening the law and order scene across the state will be his top priority.

The Centre had given its nod to the appointment of Ganapathy as DGP late on Thursday night.

Ganapathy had recently returned from deputation in the Home Ministry.
