BJP MLA from from Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, R D Prajapati had come down heavily on government employees and officers at a function in Chhatarpur’s Lavkushnagar on Friday and said “Are government officials blind? Why are they removing names of people from the BPL list? Stop doing this, those who do so will not have their hands.”

He said those who are doing this can leave the office if he or she does not wish to work properly, while warning corrupt officials.

Later, he said his comments were mainly a warning for corrupt officials. “It goes for me as well. If you find me indulging in corruption, you can thrash me with a shoe,” he added.

In January 2016, reports had claimed that BJP MLA Ashok Dogra from Rajasthan’s Bundi district had threatened assistant engineer Gopalkrishna Yadav of Jaipur Vidhyut Vitaran Nigam Ltd (JVVNL) that official’s clothes would be torn if the issue of connecting illegal connections was not resolved.

While the official was heard in audio clip explaining the legal position that such illegal connections could not be restored and he was just following his seniors orders, ABP News had reported.
