IPS officer’s wife takes her husband ‘affair’ to women’s body

Jaipur: Wife of a serving IPS officer has petitioned the state commission for women, alleging her husband of having an extra-marital affair.

"The charges are false. We filed for a divorce in 2009 and the case is on," IPS officer Pankaj Kumar Choudhary said.

“The charges are false. We filed for a divorce in 2009 and the case is on,” IPS officer Pankaj Choudhary said.

In a complaint to the Rajasthan State Commission for Women, Sudha Gupta, the wife of IPS officer Pankaj Choudhary, has alleged that she had been mentally harassed by her husband for extra-marital affair.

She strongly claimed that Choudhary, without divorcing her, is presently in a live-in relationship with another woman.

“To my knowledge, the two have also secretly got married. I am being pressurized to divorce my husband, who is no longer taking care of me and my daughter,” Sudha said,

In her petition, she has claimed that she was being threatened by Choudhary’s live-in partner and his brothers. So, she was forced to seek the intervention of the women’s commission in order to get justice.

The women commission has assured all help to the wife of the officer in connection with this matter and the case will be taken up today.

“We will ensure action is taken against the accused. It does not matter what office he holds,” said Suman Sharma, chairperson of the Rajasthan State Commission for Women.

Meanwhile, the IPS officer refuted the charges and said, “the charges are false. We filed for a divorce in 2009 and the case is on.”
