Sanjiv Chaturvedi to get posting as OSD to Kejriwal soon

New Delhi: AIIMS deputy director Sanjiv Chaturvedi, who was removed from the post of chief vigilance officer (CVO) at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), is likely to get posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has directed the Appointment Committee of Cabinet to decide on his deputation by January 5, 2016.

SanjIv Chaturvedi may soon get posting as OSD to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Whistleblower Chaturvedi, who was honoured with the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay award in July, is a Uttarakhand cadre Indian Forest Service officer.

The CAT directed the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Prime Minister-headed Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) to complete the process of Chaturvedi’s deputation to the Delhi government immediately.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on February 16 had written to Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar seeking services of Chaturvedi as Officer on Special Duty.

The CAT was told that the requisite NoCs had been received from Uttarakhand government and the Environment and Forests Ministry.

The Tribunal then ordered that Chaturvedi’s file be put up “immediately” before DoPT so that the mater may be placed before ACC “immediately thereafter”. Chaturvedi’s cadre was changed from Haryana to Uttarakhand on August 13 after he moved the Tribunal in a separate petition, citing “threat to life”.
