FM Jaitley to file defamation case against Kejriwal, AAP leaders

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who is under the hammer for the allegations of corruptions in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), will be filing civil and criminal defamation cases against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders.

FM Arun Jaitley said he had instructed his legal team to institute civil defamation cases against Kejriwal and others in the Delhi High Court and criminal defamation cases in the Patiala House courts.

Besides Kejriwal, Jaitley would file defamation cases against Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha, Deepak Bajpayee.

The Delhi Government had earlier decided to constitute a commission of enquiry to probe the alleged corruption in the DDCA.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to senior advocate Gopal Subramaniam to head the commission.

Finance Minister Jaitley has been accused of corruption by the Delhi Government and former players including Kirti Azad and Bishan Singh Bedi during his tenure as president of DDCA till 2013.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress Party has demanded for the resignation of the Finance Minister from the union cabinet to enable an independent probe against him.
