Bengal govt appoints Raj Kanojia as new DG of Intelligence Branch

Kolkata: In a reshuffle in the IPS cadre, the West Bengal Government has appointed senior police officer Raj Kanojia as the DG of Intelligence Branch.

In addition, the 1982 batch IPS officer Kanojia would continue to coordinate and supervise the overall situation in North Bengal and also look after the matters related to coastal security for the state, state Home Department officials said today.

Another senior officer and the 1984 batch IPS A K Sarkar has been promoted to the post of DG, Railways, from his existing post as ADG, Enforcement Branch, the officials said, adding, both the orders were passed yesterday.
