Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh High Court Thursday rejected her bail plea of sacked IAS officer Tinoo Joshi on the grounds that she had misused liberty of previous bail that was given for a surgery.

Justice S Kemkar ruled the application deserves to be rejected and directed her to surrender.

The prosecuting agency Lokayukta’s special public prosecutor Pankaj Dubey argued Tinoo Joshi was granted a three months bail earlier in January this year on grounds she has to undergo an urgent surgery, but the operation was not done nor she surrendered after lapse of the bail period.

“She turned herself in only after issuance of an arrest warrant against her,” Dubey said.

Dubey also contended in court that her husband had been on the run for a long period and there is a possibility that he had fled the nation.

Tinoo Joshi had made a dramatic surrender before special court in Bhopal on January 14, 2015, six months after eluding arrest in a disproportionate assets case.

The court had then rejected her bail moved on medical grounds and sent her to judicial custody till January 26.
The Supreme Court on December 18, 2014 had set a three-week deadline to Tinoo to surrender.

Her sacked IAS husband Arvind Joshi is on the run. He has recently moved Supreme Court seeking an anticipatory bail.

Tinoo and her husband Arvind Joshi were dismissed last year after the Lokayukta police allegedly found assets worth several crores of rupees at their residence in Bhopal in December 2010.
