AP employees get highest salaries in India on par with Central scales: Naidu

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu Saturday said government employees in his state were drawing highest salaries in India on a par with Central government scales.

"Our government employees get the highest salaries in the country on a par with Central government scales," said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

“Our government employees get the highest salaries in the country on a par with Central government scales,” said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

“Our government employees get the highest salaries in the country on a par with Central government scales,” Naidu said while addressing the State party meeting here.

Naidu announced on February 9, a 43 per cent hike in salaries of government employees under pressure from his Telangana counterpart to match the salary hike for government staff of both states.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao had earlier declared a 43 per cent hike in salaries of government employees on February 5.

Now,the salaries of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments employees have more than doubled in the last five years.

The 63 per cent hike in dearness allowance effected before salary hike announcement in last five years and the basic salary 43 per cent hike resulted in a 106 per cent hike in the salaries of all state government employees working in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

It would be near impossible for central government employees to get their salaries doubled even in 10 years whereas the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana employees achieved this rare feat in just five years.

Accordingly, we can say that the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh benefited the state government employees of both states the most.
