Mumbai: Navi Mumbai police commissioner K L Prasad applied for voluntary retirement today.

“Prasad has sought voluntary retirement for personal reasons,” additional chief secretary (home) K P Bakshi told PTI.

Prasad is scheduled to meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis tomorrow.

prasad, a 1982 batch IPS officer, hails from Nellore town in Andhra Pradesh, born on 15th April 1956. He is MA in Sociology from Delhi school of Economics.

He hold different distinction of charges in Mumbai Commissionerate and worked in both the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
