Bombay High Court granted interim bail to Salman Khan till May 8 when it will hear his appeal.

Accordingly, Salman would not be going to jail on Wednesday.

Senior lawyer Harish Salve argued for Bollywood actor Salman in the High Court. Salve argued, “Cannot put someone in jail without the order. Please give time till day after. We have only received the operative part of the order.”

The Sessions Court’s verdict came after a 13 year trial in a 2002 hit-and-run case, in which the court found that Salman was driving intoxicated when he drove into a Mumbai bakery, killing one person and injuring four others.

Following this, the actor’s sister Alvira Agnihotri and lawyer Salve reached the Bombay High Court to apply for bail. Salve represented the actor in the High Court.

the High Court heard Salman’s appeal for bail later on Wednesday. Salman has been granted two days interim bail.
