Arun Jha takes over as Tribal Affairs Secretary

New Delhi: Senior IAS officer Arun Jha today took over as the new Tribal Affairs Secretary.

Jha, an officer of the 1981 batch from Bihar, was Special Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

Jha succeeded Dr Hrusikesh Panda, a 1979 batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre, who retired on Thursday.

Jha has served the Government of Bihar and Center in various capacities.

At the Center, he was attached with the ministries of agriculture,chemicals and fertilizers.

Jha was also Chief Vigilance Officer in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited.

In Bihar, he served as SDO at Hajipur and Bhabua, DDC at Darbhanga, DM at Bhagalpur besides holding many other senior assignments in various ministries and departments of the state government.
