A division bench headed by Justices G S Solanki granted her interim bail for three months after her counsel Pratul Shandilya said Joshi was unwell and needed to undergo hysterectomy procedure.

He also contended that the lawyer for the prosecuting agency — Lokayukta police — twice failed to appear in the trial court this month, while the charge sheet had been filed 10 months ago.

Joshi had surrendered in a Bhopal local court on January 13 after remaining on the run for over 10 months. The court had turned down her bail plea and sent her in judicial custody.

Tinoo and her husband Arvind Joshi, also an IAS officer, were dismissed last year after the Lokayukta police allegedly found assets worth crores of rupees at their residence here. Arvind is still absconding.
