42 IAS officers transferred in Maharashtra

Mumbai: In its first major bureaucratic reshuffle, Maharashtra Government today effected transfers of 42 top IAS officers.

Gautam Chatterjee, who was earlier Director General of Shipping on central deputation has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary (Transport and Ports) in the Home department.

Principal Secretary (Transport and Ports) S K Sharma has been transferred as Principal Secretary (Co-operation) and Rajgopal Devara, secretary of the cooperation department is now posted in Tribal welfare.

Additional municipal commissioner Rajiv Jalota would head the sales tax as commissioner.

Gautam Chaterjee, who is back from central deputation, will be the Additional Chief Secretary (Transport and Ports) in the Home department.

Housing Principal Secretary Debashish Chakravarty has been transferred to School Education and Sports Ministry.

In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority, Ashwini Bhide has been brought to head the newly created Mumbai Metropolitan Rail Corporation Mumbai.

High-profile IAS officer Manukumar Shrivastava and principal secretary of the urban development will now work in the revenue department. Shrikant Singh who was earlier a principal Secretary of UD 2 is now the principal secretary of planning.

Medha Gadgil, who was earlier with the environment department, has been given the charge of heading Medical Education. O P Gupta, who was been the head of BEST for the past five years, is now the MD of state electricity generation company, while Jagdish Patil has been brought in his place.

While SRA chief Nirmal Deshmukh will now work as the head of Dharavi rehab projects, Thane commissioner Aseem Gupta will head the SRA.

DT Waghmare is now posted as municipal commissioner of Navi Mumbai, while the Navi Mumbai commissioner will be education commissioner in Pune. S Chokalingam will be the divisional commissioner Pune, while Sanjeev Jaiswal willl be municipal commissioner of Thane.

Excise commissioner Sanjay Mukherjee is now the new commissioner of Mumbai, and the fisheries commissioner S D Shinde is appointed as excise commissioner.

Sales Tax commissioner Niteen Kareer was brought in as the principal secretary of Urban development-1, which deals with policies and plans, while Manisha Mhaiskar was appointed as secretary of Urban development – 2.

The vice president of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority Satish Gavai was posted as principal secretary of housing department and Sambhaji Zende Patil was appointed in his place.

Sudhir Khanapure was posted as chief officer of the Mumbai Housing and the tribal welfare department secretary Mukesh Khullar of the 1985 batch has been made in-charge of the energy department.
